ISPP has hosted a Model United Nations (MUN) event on 24th-26th, September 2015. At that, I got to be a part of it with the other nine students from Liger and we were participated in a group of Junior General Assembly. I met many new friends which were Cambodian and foreign. It was such a long day there, but we still had an enjoyable time. We discussed about the global issue. We worked really hard to prepare for the event, but we have only night time to work. We worked for four nights and each night we have 1hour and a half. In that period we have to research about our country position, religion, issue and the problem that the country’s facing. After we got all the information we need to put them in a document and write an opening speech for our country. That time I was a representer of Turkey. I have got many experiences at that event and I am anticipating for the next event.

CIC Description

Name of course: CIC (Crime in Cambodia)

Learning Facilitator: Jeff

Number of students: 7

Course Description:
This Exploration was hosted by students and it was the frist Exploration ever that students were leading the class. During this seven weeks course, I’ve been learning about Crime in Cambodia as our big theme. But we were strongly focusing on the environmental crime which are destroying by people. As we seen and had some background knowledge about this, we came up with an intention of helping to preserve lives in the water. We went to Kep to explore more about it. We met some people from Marine Conservation Cambodia (MCC) who are working to protect the marine ecosystem at Kep province. We also interview a villager at there. When we got all the information that we need, we turned them into a documentary to educate people who can access to the internet not matter they are Cambodian or foreigners, but I think that we should collaborate as a team. I think like this because fish have lots of protein and what if we don’t have fish anymore? It would be really difficult!

Video Expertise

This is a video that my group and I made during our video Expertise. This Expertise is one hour per week. I really enjoyed in this Expertise and the video is about our school core values.

English Writing

I go to an unusual school. This school is located in the city of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This is a boarding school and the students in the school were selected from many different places around Cambodia. There are 50 students and we are the first generation of the school. Liger is providing free education for all 50 students and also food, housing, learning materials and many other things. In our education system we are learning many things, such as Khmer and English Literacy, Math, STEM (which we learn from many staff) Expertise is the subject that we can pick our own topic to do and that’s call Independent Discovery, or we will be assigned by teachers to learn if that is important to our Exploration, Exploration is learning to explore things and every Exploration is seven weeks. In every Exploration there will be a goal, but the big idea is that we want to change Cambodia. Sometimes we have off campus trips to explore. Some trips can be in the country and some trips can also be in the other countries, so we could get the opportunities to meet people and learn about the world. My life has changed when I came to Liger, My unusual school.

Football

Besides school time I have got some after school extension and this is one of my favorite sports. Football makes me feel fresh because when I got stress in class football can make me feel better and also makes me sleep well at night when I used my energy to play this sport.

Name of course: Phnong Indigenous Minority

Learning Facilitator: Phearun, Jaime

Number of students: 11

Course Description:

Our group have been working hardly to reach the group intention which is to publish a photo book that show about Phnong indigenous minority in Cambodia, especially over to the southeastern of Cambodia. Our whole group went to visit Phnong community and asked many questions to the people at the community there. To get information there are some challenges that we faced. On the way to a community at Mondulkiri it was slippery and muddy. We didn’t know anything about the road condition, so we drove our big bus there and our bus got stuck, so came out the bus and help each other to get the bus out. We couldn’t. The people are so kind to us there. When they see that our bus was stuck they came and help us. This was a trip that makes me feel that how important it is when you help someone when they need help.
